Hanzky and I have many dreams. We’ve been talking about these dreams since she asked me to write for Fashionese Daily, back in 2007, and I said yes. We talked about them during our YM conversations when she was still in the US, we talked about them in the emails we exchanged (and there were probably thousands of them to date), we talked about them in the car while driving to a meeting, talked about them on BlackBerry messengers and so on and so forth. It feels unreal to have those dreams slowly becoming a reality one by one, though we certainly worked hard for it to happen.

One of our dreams is to create an event about women and the digital world, where women like us could gather in one place, not just for the sake of meeting each other, but where we can learn from one another, look for possibilities to collaborate (much like what our members have been doing in our forum) and gain new knowledge or insight from experts or seasoned industry practitioners. Having run an online business for 5 years, we feel like we ought to share the wealth of possibilities that the online world can provide for us, women. Be it for our career, business, education or even for personal development. And as a company who has been working closely with many brands and ad agencies, we also feel like we are in a unique position to give some valuable insights to them, on what women want, how they behave online and how to best communicate to them. So yes, there will be many topics for many different people that we want to present; brands, ad agency, marketers, entrepreneurs, college students and of course, women like you and me. That’s why we imagined this to be a much bigger event than the ones we have done in the past. More speakers, more activities, more attendees.

As it happens, our friend, Yansen Kamto, the CEO of Kibar Kreasi, who’s responsible for creating digital industry’s most prominent events such as idbyte and Google DevFest, also had a similar idea. We got together one day to discuss this and the next thing we know, it is on!

So ladies, we present you Women Wired Weekend, the gateway to connect and collaborate. This is the place where you can be inspired, empowered and celebrate the important role you hold as a woman.
